Dr. Lucybell Mendez joined the Psychology Department faculty at UT in Fall 2023. Dr. Mendez’s clinical orientation integrates sociological, trauma-focused, and developmentally-centered perspectives with evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapeutic principles. Her research program disseminates information on policies and regulations that may impact the mental and behavioral health of youth and families via accessible avenues and promotes trauma-informed and culturally responsive advocacy.
She was recognized with the Clinical Area Professional Development Award at the University of Utah. She published several peer-reviewed journal articles last year that were included in publications including Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma.
